Overview
LearnAbout English is an English writing education service designed for children aged 8–12. The service combines AI-powered learning tasks, an XML-based scripting system for chatbot interactions, and one-on-one online video feedback to help students develop their English writing skills.
1:1 English Writing Feedback from Australian Tutors
We designed 20 courses around different topics,
using the concept of exploring 20 islands with
unique characters. Each island features a writing
mission, and students receive personalized,
one-on-one feedback from English tutors in
Australia after submitting their work.
This approach allowed students to connect with
English tutors online regardless of their location
or time zone.
AI Chatbot
The AI chatbot supports discovery-based learning
and encourages students to learn independently.
Students' handwritten answers are converted into
text in real time, allowing the chatbot to
immediately determine whether their answers are
correct.
XML-based AI scripts control the chatbot's
responses and provide immediate feedback,
helping to keep students engaged throughout
the learning process.
Character and Emoticon Design
In the chat interface, emoticons and character
interactions make the learning experience more
approachable and engaging for the target age group.
Each character was designed to respond to students'
answers and learning progress, creating a more
interactive and friendly experience.
Color Palette and Iconography
The color palette was designed to clearly distinguish interactive elements and guide students through the learning experience. Action-oriented colors were applied to buttons, indicators, and other interactive elements.
